Pure coconut oil

Few months ago I was looking, really looking, my face in the mirror.
Next thing I know, I had the terrible idea to take a close up look with the iPad camera.
Oh my God!! Is it just me or every single lines or shadows or shagging skin are magnify by this horrible lens.
I am 42 years old woman, mother of 2 and pregnant with an other one and overall friends and family are saying that I look younger than my age, I believe due to good gene and good skin routine ( check my previous blogs in beauty tips and exfoliators ). Nevertheless I am always on the search of the elisyr of youth.
My latest search brought me out on the seven seas, up to the highest mountains and to the driest desert.
Basically down to my my local shop on top of the organic shelves and I pick a jar of coconut oil, yes cooking one.
One of my training in beauty is in Ayurvedic treatments and I really don’t know why I don’t advertise it more as one of my skills; anyway according to Ayurveda our body, mind and soul are a combination of three elemental substances, the doshas (called Vata, Pitta and Kapha), and states that a balance of the doshas results in health, while imbalance results in disease.
The doshas derive from the Five Elements and their related properties. Vata is composed of Space and Air, Pitta of Fire and Water, and Kapha of Earth and Water. A person with a predominantly Vata constitution will have physical and mental qualities that reflect the elemental qualities of Space and Air. That is why Vata types are commonly quick thinking, thin, and fast moving. A Pitta type, on the other hand, will have qualities reflective of Fire and Water, such as a fiery personality and oily skin. A Kapha type will typically have a solid bodily frame and calm temperament, reflecting the underlying elements of Earth and Water. While one dosha predominates in most individuals, a second dosha typically has a strong influence.
My predominate dosha is Vata and second is Pitta.
Coconut oil is recommended because calms Vata and Pitta, supports Kapha.
Some of the properties of coconut oil are: quickens wound healing and helps in filling up of skin depression in wounds also allegedly helps with wrinkles.
Therefore I decided to give it a try, as one of my new year resolutions is to embrace more organic and natural products in my skin and health routine.
My daughter, when the weather gets colder, suffers of red and cracked skin around the lips area. I wanted to give a go to my new purchase and I applied the coconut oil on her face. I am very happy to say that the area is improving drastically more the last 2 days with this natural remedy than all the chemical cream she was applying the past 7 days.
Going back to my skin now feels softer moreover someone made a comment how radiant it looks.
I am,always, a bit cautions when beauty companies claim this cream or this natural remedies will make your wrinkles go, I believe one you have them ,you have them, nevertheless that doesn’t mean you can keep them at bay.
Remember that the skin is the largest organ of our body. It produces naturally occurring antidepressants, anti-cancer, and anti-aging substances as well as hormones that enhance circulation. Ayurveda prescribes using the hands to massage the body with oil. The feel of warm oils applied to the body using hands has a very therapeutic effect on physical and psychological levels, including the calming of the mind and nervous system. It doesn`t require a lot of time and usually only takes a few minutes of your day. Nonetheless, the benefits will be with you for a lifetime, should you choose to incorporate it into your lifestyle.
My lovely people if you are interested to find out what your dosha take a test on this websitewww.naturesformulary.comand enjoy, maybe for some of you a new way in life.

As some of you may recall I have already blogged about the first step for an effective skin routine ;cleansing. Look up for “Beauty tips”.
The second step is exfoliating. It will help to get rid off of dead cell and to renew the skin much quicker; possibly try to use face scrub twice a week.
Use a warm face cloth to rinse the face, and if you have time prepare a bowl with boiled water. Lean over and cover your head with a towel. The steam promotes the skin’s pores to open up, therefore all the beauty products you will use after will penetrate easier and they will work more effectively on your skin .
I know this routine can be a challenge at least , if you can,try exfoliating during shower.

Here ,in my opinion, some of the best scrubs:

Father Christmas in disguise

Here we are again one of most expensive and busiest time of the year,Christmas.
Schools are off for two weeks and it is a challenge try to keep kids occupied.
Now, as a mother of two and half kids ( the half is the bump) I like to organised different activities for my two very energetic and outspoken bambini, my girl is 9 years old and the boy just turned 5, one of the them is breakfast with Santa at garden centre, near where I live.
They bring you proper English breakfast, Santa goes around to welcome the kids and after the children go the grotto to get a present.

We attended last year event and since it a quite nice thing to do with our broods, my friend and I decided to make it one of our traditions, together with Halloween’s.
Therefore we booked this year as well.
This time, it was much busier than the year before and the food was a bit of a disappointment, however, having small kids that still believe in Saint Nicholas, the initial hurdle didn’t bother me so much.
Eventually when the man in red came around our table he asked our children what they wished for Christmas, my friend’s kids told theirs and my daughter hers, my son looked him and said, I report the exact words, ” I know that you are not a real Santa , smarty pants”, the poor man replied ” Yes, of course I am Santa “, my son answered “No, you are a man dress like Santa but you are not Him”. The fake Santa at the point didn’t know what to say and he moved to the next ,less inquisitive, table.
In the meanwhile us,adults, were cringing under the table for embarrassment and couldn’t stop laughing in the same time.
My little boy , few minutes later, must had been thinking about the consequences telling the man he wasn’t the real Father Christmas, and he came to me and said: “Mamma, even if I said he isn’t Santa do still get my present?”
And of course I reassured him.
My friend , always, tells me that my kids never failed make her laugh with their remarks, and I do, indeed, have few interesting stories about Chip and Dale, as I like to call my precious ones.
Anyway, now the three biggest question are:
1) When is the right age to tell them about Santa .
2) Will be my third child embarrassing like the other two?
3) What Nickname I am going to give this one, since they are only 2 ?

Ciao and have a safe holiday

Mua lip velvet lacquer

I love this lipstick, mua lip velvet lacquer in DARE shade.
It stays on long hours, also doesn’t smudge, especially if you have little wrinkles around the mouth.
My only advice is to apply a lip balm.

Putting the lip balm before the lipstick will make the lips moist and even the colour won’t come off while you are eating

beauty tips

Now days we all know to have a beautiful skin it is important to eat healthy food options, exercise, get good sleep and have a regular skin care routine.
As a woman and a professional beauty therapist I really believe on the power of regular facial.
Nothing can beat a professional one !
Just relax and enjoy the benefits .
However as I always say to my clients it is paramount to keep the good job up at home as well.
Professional products are definitely the best, but they can be pricy too.
I am always on the quest to look for good quality products that are effective, bit alternative as well but without spending an arm and a leg.
Although I would advice you to invest in a good moisturizing cream.
I understand it is a challenge try to fit a good cleansing routine everyday, but my suggestion is to try while you are having a shower. Literally it will take you just extra few minute of your time.
If I can just give one advice to you is DON’T use a normal soap to wash your face, it would stripe the natural oil of the skin and you would feel your face dry.
What I am going to tell you now it does sound a bit strange or bonkers but one of the best product to use is a feminine wash, with a Ph of 4.5 won’t destroy the natural oil of the skin. I know in the UK isn’t very popular amongst women but in Europe or other countries it is well used.
The first time I heard to use it to wash the face was on a radio show, more than 25 years ago .
A famous Italian make-up artist, Diego dalla Palma, recommended this product, especially is someone had some pimples, because the delicate formula suited the delicate Ph of the skin.
Et voila’, I have been using ever since and never felt my skin dry.
My clients using too and they, definitely, can feel the skin less tight after washing.
However skin with acne needs professional help, but using this product I promise won’t make it worst.
My motto it is good for intimate part it’s good enough for the face.
When you apply any product always include neck line, neck and face; gentle clockwise movements it is advice to improve the micro- circulation and tonicity of your face.
This is my advice of the day to everyone. What are you waiting for?
Go and start to love your face.

N7 total renewal micro-dermabrasion exfoliator . It will help to even up the skin texture after sun exposure.

Liz Earle gentle face. For dry skin.

Clinique famous 7 day scrub. For all kind of skin.

Dermalogica daily microfoliant. Lovely on oily skin. I use it on my client’s facial too.

Nail vanish final review

Hello lovely people,

maybe some of you rembember that few weeks ago I applied 5 different shades of nail vanish.

Bourjois So Laque! Ultra Shine 41 Rouge fashionista,China Glaze 043 Vermillion, OPI Canadian Maple Leaf, Revlon 60 Iced Mocha and Revlon 994 Bold Berry, finishing with OPI Top Coat Rapdry NT T74.

Now I can reveal the best vanish was ,drums roll, the Revlons.
They aren’t shiny like the OPI , the China glaze or Bourjois, but the good thing the Revlons don’t get scratch easily, because the consistency of the vanish isn’t thick as the others hence the colour stays on the nails for all 7 days with cheap free, even though I did cleaning without gloves.
However I do like and I used the other brands even on my clients.
You have been warned.

Minestrone. Gnam!Gnam!

Here in Europe the cold weather and early darkness is advancing slowly and therefore the food becomes more comforting and warmer.
Personally I think nothing can beat a warm bowl of minestrone ,brings memory of mummy’s kitchen. She manages to make it with a that particular perfume that just belongs to her way to cook it and when she comes to visit me from Milan my kids, husband and I always ask her to cook her signature dish.
People think just because I am Italian I love cooking. Truth been told I found it utterly boring and tedious.
I can cook , and actually I am quite good at it , but when it is day in and day out you can run out of ideas and good will . I love easy cooking ,one pot does it for me, even more minestrone is one of my favourite to prepare. Full of goodness and healthy ingredients.
Minestrone is a thick soup of Italian origin made with vegetables, often with the addition of pasta or rice. Common ingredients include beans, onions, celery, carrots, stock, and tomatoes.
There is no set recipe for minestrone, since it is usually made out of whatever vegetables are in season. It can be vegetarian, contain meat, or contain a meat-based broth (such as chicken stock).
I personally chuck in any veggie from the fridge or cupboard and job done.
Being married to an Australian would be like a sin not to cook with any sort of meat therefore I always end up threw bacon in the minestrone, to be fair taste pretty good.
I have to ways to make it.
The first one I called the lazy way, in a pot fry gently the chopped bacon chopped celery, carrots, onion and garlic. After add the stock and chuck in any veggies you like or left in the fridge or add beans from the cupboard.
By the way I love lots of fresh basil and olive oil as well . Just cook it on the stove for 30 minutes low/medium temperature.
The labour way is to fry up all your veggies and add them in the home made stock, potatoes go in last.
Sometime I add some pesto to give a bit of different flavour.
As you can see it isn’t difficult to make it .
So let start cooking and happy days!
I quite don’t mind Jamie Oliver

Aveeno cream skin relief review

I do like the Aveeno cream skin relief with shear butter!

With a growing bump my skin is getting itchier by the day. Luckily no stretch marks!
I like the consistency of this cream not grease, easy to apply and for the skin to absorb it.
Happy days ,your clothes won’t have any oily marks which could happen with some other creams.
I like to apply it after the shower leaving the skin’s texture very soft and silky for few hours.
If my kids start fighting and I need to intervene ,I find bit challenging to put it, and try not to kill them both.
Just joking!
Anyway , as I was saying when I don’t put the cream the skin in the tummy feel tighter and a bit irritated and , the next thing I know, I start scratching like a monkey with thicks.
I’ve just had this image of me eating a banana as well! Nice view. Not!

My lovely people this a good cream and I would advice it considering the price is a bargain too!
